Arrow-Tech Pocket Dosimeters
are rugged, precision instruments about the size of a pocket fountain pen,
which are used to measure accumulative doses or quantities of gamma &
X-ray radiation. A metal clip is used to attach the dosimeter to
an individual's pocket or to any available object in an area to be monitored
for total radiation exposure. It
is pocket-size, conductive-fiber electroscope with an ion chamber for detecting
and indication integrated exposure to gamma and x-radiation. It has a thin
wall which permits the penetration and detection of radiation.
Reset any quantity of Pocket Dosimeters with a simple, dependable battery
powered Dosimeter Charger after use. See specifications
below.
The way to "read" a Pocket Dosimeter is to just point
it at a light source so that you can look through it and see the scale.
The conductive fiber moves across a very clear well marked scale
that produces the reading.

Pocket Dosimeters use an extremely sensitive fiber electrometer
type voltmeter and a small volume of air to measure the total amount of
radiation to which the instrument has been exposed. A reading may be made
at any time by merely looking at a source of light through the eyepiece
end of the instrument. The reading here is at zero. The particular
dosimeter shown is the 200mR model.

A Pocket Dosimeter can be worn like a pen in your pocket
or clipped to a belt. It can be set outside for an hour, to tell
the radiation rate. You don't have to have a radiation meter if you
have a dosimeter and are not in a hurry to measure the rate.

Dosimeters include an extra hard synthetic
sapphire
window to protect the lens even in the toughest of conditions.
Units shown are rem
(R), milli-rem (mR), and milli-Sievert
(mSv). A rem (R) is Roentgen
Equivalent in Man, the ionizing radiation
biologically equivalent to one typical high-penetration x-ray.
A Sievert (Sv) is an international unit, 1Sv
equals 100R
A milli-rem (mR) is 1/1000th R.
A milli-Sievert (mSv) is 1/1000th Sv. 1mSv
= 100mR
A micro-Sievert (µSv) is 1/1000000th
(Millionth) Sv. 1µSv = 0.1
mR

Reset any Pocket Dosimeters with the Dosimeter
Charger, available separately. A single charger can
reset a great many dosimeters over and again.
Rate of Exposure can be calculated with any model.
Reset dosimeter, then take a six minute reading; that amount x10 is mR/hr.
(Pocket 2 recommended)
Pocket Dosimeter model 2 is ultra sensitive to normal
background radiation, max reading is accumulated within a 24-hour period
in any normal environment. Excellent for use in calculating Rate
of Exposure. Otherwise, for use in special applications only.
